I've been working on those prints with filters and half tones some more and I'm really happy with the progress. I especially like the first image, I think it freshens up the collection and would work well with swimwear. I'd like to turn the bottom one into some kind of laser print.

How things change
Here's the beginnings of the two looks I'm currently making. The one at the bottom is the evolution of the draping I blogged about a few weeks ago- lucky, they have come a long way...
Still a long way to go.

Scuba Girl
My collection has turned fairly sporty-swim so I thought I'd set the mood with some images from Italian Elle. See the editorial at Fashionising.com.

More Colours...
We've all been dyeing madly in the print room lately, here are some colours I've dyed up to reflect my colour pallet- Seeing the colours as a fabric and not a swatch of paper makes defining the colours much easier as you can get a sense of what the colours really look like. Looking at what I've dyed up has given me direction to tweek my pallet slightly.

musings…Alter Ego Cont.
Following on from my earlier post about Beyonce and the way she uses her Alter Ego to express herself, I've been brainstorming how my customer will use Inhale/Exhale to express herself. I imagine my customer to be multi-layered, meaning she will be interested and enjoys lots of different things and she uses Inhale/Exhale, and my other work as a channel to express whatever mood she'd in. Inhale/Exhale will be a channel to express sexiness, activeness, edginess, etc.

Almost final colour pallet
I've brightened up my colours and they are much more summery and fresh. I'd like to use the nudes (which looks a bit different on screen) and greys as a base with the other colours, mainly the peach and greens as splashes of colours throughout the collection.
Below are a few swatches I played with to experiment how I should balance the pallet.
I'm now going to dye fabrics to get a deeper sense of the colour so I can balance them on the body and play with proportion. The colours are still up for modification but this is the basic idea.

McQueen Tribute
I found this tribute to Alexander McQueen at Dazed Digital
'In memory of our friend and long-time collaborator Lee Alexander McQueen CBE, we present the highlights from over 13 years of creative projects that he worked on with Dazed & Confused. Taking on the roles of art director, guest editor, interviewer and interviewee, he left us with a collection of astoundingly innovative stories – and two striking covers – that span fashion, art and politics, and remain as thought-provoking today as they were when they were first published.'

Zimmerman at Rosemount
http://www.thevine.com.au/rafw/rafw-_-zimmerman.aspx
Interesting print combinations and silhouettes but nothing Zimmerman hasn't done before. None the less, very pretty and very Zimmerman. I especially like the first image and can see it, and the whole collection, selling very well, very wearable but still very fashion forward. I love.

From Earth to the Universe
While I was visiting the Powerhouse this week for Frock Stars, I also had a look at the From Earth to the Universe exhibition. The exhibition had some amazing imagery as well as some interesting information about Galileo’s observations 400 years ago. I've always been pretty interested in the universe and how amazing our surroundings are, especially after reading Bill Bryson's A Short History of Nearly Everything, last year. The book totally blows you away on its description of our small we are and how large the universe is. The book, and the exhibition leave you with a really grounded feeling and an appreciation for what surrounds us and the possibilities for the future - as well as some amazing images which left me feeling totally inspired.
Anyway, here are some images from the Exhibition:

Frock Stars
This week my friend and I checked out Sydney Powerhouse Museum for some inspiration and to see what all the fuss was about, around the Frock Stars exhibition.
The exhibition is celebrating 15 years of Rosemount Australian Fashion Week, taking you on a walk through a fashion show, front row and back stage and some 'behind the scenes' info on the fashion industry. An impressive amount of Australian Designers lent their pieces to the exhibition, which was creatively and interestingly designed. I recommend a visit, not just for the fashion enthusiast but for anyone who would like to have a look at what the industry is like, its quite accurate and fun to walk through.

lace + fence
In my search for lace images, I came across Dutch Design House Demakersvan and their amazing design work on wire fences. I love the way the fences merge industrial and decorative, the fences are fully functioning, security fences but show that just because something requires function, it does not need to lack decorative design.
